Phantom of the Opera-Las Vegas Experience

What a wonderful experience we had in Las Vegas last weekend. Sue bought us some phenomenal tickets to the Phantom of the Opera show at the Venetian in Las Vegas for my Christmas present....how thoughtful as I've been wanting to see this forever.

Can you believe she scored 2nd row center seats....oh my gosh...how awesome.

We began the evening by eating at Mario Battali's "San Marco" restaurant. It is an upscale casual restaurant in the main court of the Ventian hotel. The food was very good , but the compnay was exquisite...and the sites were great too...at least from my vantage point :o)

From there we went to see the Phantom, and it was an action-packed and talented version. The acting and signing were great and the show and it's theatrics were superb. It felt as though you were actually sitting within the set. Awesome!!!!!!

After the show we went back to our hotel, the new Planet Hollywood , where we enjoyed a very hip, and funky room with it's own personal game room attached...equipped with a foosball table and bumper pool table. We changed clothes then went downstairs to stroll through the Miracle Mile of shops....tons and tons of shops. We had a great dessert of Ben & Jerry's ice cream...mmmmm good as we were sitting beside an area that looked like a seaside.

The next day we went to the Las Vegas Outlet Mall on the south end of the strip and spent about 4 hours there. We went in a ton of the stores and Sue was able to find some great buys on some clothes that she needed.

We headed back home to watch the Red Wings take on the Sabres...to make it authentic though we stopped and got some 2 Fat Guys pizza (the best we have out here) and of course, some Buffalo Wings from Buffaloe's Southwest Grill mmmmmm good!

What a great weekend we had...Ii love my wife and spending time with her....she is awesome! I have been so busy lately that I REALLY enjoyed my time with her. Since she is not working Fridays anymore, we plan on getting away for these mini vacations as often as we can.

Until next time...happy blogging!

Preston "Bowl Game" Salley Turned 1 on New Years Day

Sheeri & Talon went with us to Jimmy & Hollie's house to celebrate Preston's birthday. We had cupcakes and had a personal review of Gracie's holiday dance show...pretty amazing and fun!

Dinosaur Museum in St. George

We have this awesome dinosaur museum in St. George that houses a huge collection of dinosaur bones & footprints that were unearthed in 2001 at this site. Sherri and Talon went with us to see these things. Pretty cool. But once you've seen a dinosaur footprint...you've seen them all

Petroglyphs in the Park

There is a park right in the middle of the Bloomington area of St. George that has a huge rock that is covered with Petroglyphs. It really is pretty cool. These petroglyphs are from around 1100A.D.

End of the year fun in Snow Canyon.

Annie and Brett came to visit us for a week right after Christmas and Sherry & Talon came just before New year's eve. We all went over to Snow Canyon and enjoyed a nice hike together. Even "Stan the Man" came along. Great day, beautiful weather.

Christmas Fun...Finally at last...a new blog update.

Christmas and New Year's have come and gone. We had a great holiday season with our family and friends that were in the area, and we missed those who were afar. We trust everyone had a great holiday and that you were able to focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

We had a nice itme with Chris and Alicia and Jimmy and Hollie too. Lot so f un especially with the grand kids. The house looked real nice and we really enjoyed our first Christmas together.

We had a nice Christmas dinner of Prime rib and roasted potatoes. We didn't start too many new traditions but that wil happen over the years to come. We did watch "It's a wonderful life" on Christmas Eve
