Birthday Girl

Happy Birthday to Elonna who turned 7 last week. Sue and I babysat Champ while Chris & Alicia took Elonna out for dinner and some personal attention. We went to the Ward BBQ with him and everyone just loved the little guy. Then everyone came back to the house for a little cake & ice cream. Here's some pictures of Champ, Grandpa & Grandma Sue, Elonna & her mommy, Alicia, and her best friend Savannah. Did I mention that elonna absolutely loves Hannah Montana...she is a real ham.

"Stan the Man"

Here's a picture of our "granddog" Stanley. Ok Brinley, these pictures are for you. Isn't he cute....he makes me laugh thinking about him. I still can't believe he actually sat there while I took his picture.

Granddog Sitting

Sue and I had a great time this weekend babysitting for our granddog, Stanley. Stanley is a little ball of energy otherwise known as a Pug. He was wide open the whole weekend but we enjoyed watching him.

Sue and I also went to the Tuachan outdoor theater to see "Big River" which is based on the adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The production was based upon the struggles of slavery in the pre-civil war era on the Mississippi river. It was awesome.

Annie & Brett stayed with us a couple of nights on their way to and from a fun excursion to Lake Powell. As always it was nice seeing them.

Here's a few pictures Annie & Brett opening some of Stanley's "dog shower" gifts too.

Weekend with Annie, Brett, and Stanley

We had a great weekend with Annie, Brett, and Stanley on Labor day weekend. They came to visit us and pick up some of Sue's furniture and other mementos.

They arrived late Friday night and we all stayed up late and got caught up on things. We all slept in on Saturday morning before we headed over to Sue's old home to clean it out and to move the last remnants of Sue's existence from there and either loaded into a truck Annie & Brett had rented or into one of our trailers so we could store the goodies at our home. All went well with no strained backs........or cussing :o).....did I ever tell you how much I hate moving :o(

We all headed up to Springdale, which is the little city just outside the gates of Zion National Park. We had a great casual dinner at Oscar's Cafe, which is this great little funky bistro of a place. We then all went to the IMAX theater and saw the "Dark Knight" ....wow....awesome movie...even better on the IMAX. Just go ahead and give Heath Ledger the darn Oscar...he really deserves it.

Sunday was typically busy with church and then a nice roast pork dinner. We all played Cranium Wow Edition.....boy....Annie and Brett were really good on the artsy stuff...big surprise huh :o), but Sue and I held our own.

We all went to brunch on Monday morning at this great little breakfast/lunch bistro called the Bear Paw Cafe in downtown St. George. We had a great meal and then basically said goodbye to Annie, Brett, and Stanley as they drove off into the desert on the way home. We had our good friends, the Kelvingotns over for dinner that night and feasted on ribs.

All in all a very very nice weekend....especially spending the time with Annie & Brett. I think we'll see them again this weekend on their way to Lake Powell.

News Flash....our little granddaughter, Raquel (daughter of Tina & Felipe), just began walking....woooo hoooo....AND...saying Nana, every time she sees Sue's picutre on the blog...how cool is that!!!!!!

Until next time....happy blogging!
