Scout Court of Honor
The Stake held a Scout "Court of Honor" last night at our Stake Center for all of our Boy Scouts who earned merit badges or rank advancements. Have I mentioned that we have phenomenal youth in our ward? Well, we do. They are all on their way to becoming great young men and women.
We also have some of the finest adult youth leaders that I have had the pleasure of knowing. They are great examples to the youth, because they are great husbands, wives, fathers, and mothers. They love the youth and they love the Lord. I am so blessed to be associated with each of them and it is an honor to be their Bishop.
Each of the boys received recognition for earning about 9 merit badges each at summer camp...this is outstanding for those of you who may be uninitiated in the ways of the scouts. They each also earned at least one rank advancement. I may be partial, but our troop was simply awesome.
Sue went along to support me and the scouts too. You have no idea what a great feeling it is to have a wife who is not only supportive, but is actively engaged with me in this calling.
Here are some photos of the evening and some of the things that are so right with our great country.

I really enjoy going to Eagle Courts. I've been to quite a few because I've taught a lot of 'em. I'm proud that the church is so invested in such a great program. Too bad Brett was only 1 badge away, or else he'd be sitting in the Eagles Nest!
Awe, Bish... I'm just doing my duty, supporting my Bishop, supporting my ward, (supporting my husband). I love doing activities like that with you. Way to go Brett...Better to have almost flown to the nest than to not have spread your wings or tried... (I need to support sons-in-law too).
