Luau in the Desert
We went to a community luau this past Saturday that was sponsored by the 3 Coral Canyon wards and Sun-Cor, the homeowners association. About 300-400 people showed up. There was plenty of food for everyone, Kaluah roast pork, macaroni salad, rice, and tons of desserts that everyone brought. There were even a couple of jump houses for the kids to play on, not to mention that we had it at the Coral Canyon park, where there are all kinds of things to do. The evening was topped off by some great island entertainment...it was like seeing a mini version of the Polynesian Cultural Center on the North Shore of Hawaii. Jimmy, Hollie, and the kids were able to come to and we had a blast with them. Enjoy some of the photos.

Looks like it was a lot of fun! I hope it wasn't as hot there as it was here this past weekend.....looks like you had some nice clouds for some shade.
It was beautiful until about an hour after it ended then the wind and rain came...just enough to mess up the car wash I just had on my car :)
It was hot but only in the low 90's so it was very tolerable. It cooled off nicely when the sun went down.
fun! They dont have luaus around here :( not too many Polynesians!
It really was a nice evening. It was fun to know many of the dancers. They were very, very good, especially the 12 yar old fire dancer. It made all of us want to go back to Hawaii.
By the way... Grandpa forgot to give credit to the photographer for the 2nd, 3rd and possibly 4th picture he posted here. Those were taken by the little "poser" in picture #1, Gracie. Look out, Annie. Gracie is showing some talent already. Her biggest problem is holding Grandpa's camera up.... It's a little heavy for her. Way to go Gracie!
I love the picture with you two together where you are close up with your sunglasses on Rae. That one sure is a keeper. Who's the gal with the crazy curly hair and the good looking guy in his hawaiian shirt with her?
That party was a blast!
