I ventured East today, something that I haven't done before to experience Devils Lake. Devils Lake is about 60 miles east of Rugby, pssing through farmland, praries, and marshes. Devils Lake has about 10,000 people and most of the comforts you would want. It's actually kind of neat place. It is known as one of the coutnry's best fishing lakes for Walleye, Northern Pike, and Yellow Perch. It has a huge native American Community (Sioux) a cool National Game Preserve with Elk, Bison, and Whitetail Deer herds, as well as tons of birds and a Prarie Dog Village. While I did see Elk, I didn't see the deer or the Bison, I did see obvious signs that they were indeed there. See if you can see why i know they are there.
It made for a great little day trip. We'll be sure to visit it again. It's not nearly as big as Minot, nor does it have all of the amentites that Minot has, but it is a nice little place. The lake itself is huge.
The North Dakota experience continues....enjoy!

Rae: I was excited to know you have started posting again. North Dokota looks so peaceful. Please keep us in touch about you and your family's adventures. We ran into Jimmy, Holly and the kids on the 4th of July. We loved seeing them and visiting for a while, while our little boys threw footballs into the tire rings. But we would have loved to have spent the day with you guys as we sometimes did on holidays. We sure miss you!
We have a little school house that is all boarded up like that one right behind our house! I'm glad you are keeping yourself occupied there! I hope you don't run out of places toy go :)
The pickins are gettin mighty slim Sherri :) Miss you guys. Hope to see you at the end of the month if all goes well with the house.
Looks like an interesting area. Thanks for that close up. Makes us feel like we are there... All you need to add is rain & wind sound effects and "smellavision"!
:)
